My cope sled hinge blew apart mid install last Tuesday, do you shim or scrap the door?
Had a face frame cabinet door go sideways on me in a client's kitchen in Boise last Tuesday, the cheap hinge plate ripped right out of the stile because I over tightened the screws. I drilled out the holes and glued in a dowel plug to re-drill, and honestly it held up fine on the test fit. Half of me says just plug and re-drill every time, saves the $40 door and a trip back to the shop. The other half says if the wood around the screw holes is that soft, the whole stile is suspect and I should just run a new door. What do you all do when a hinge pulls out and you don't want to remake the door?
