I stopped hand scraping drawer sides after 12 years, here is why
For over a decade I hand scraped every drawer side for that silky smooth feel, but after a big job in Austin last fall I switched to a finely set plane and honestly the finish is better and it takes a third of the time. The catch is I had to sharpen way more often and re-tune my plane every morning, which felt like a step back at first. Has anyone else made this switch and stuck with it, or did you go back to scraping for the control?
