I finally admitted I overpaid for that fancy cabinet hardware

Bought a set of soft-close hinges from a big box store for $120 and then found the same ones online for $45 after I already installed them. Anybody else ever kick themselves for not price checking first?

oh man that SUCKS. I did the same thing with my kitchen faucet, paid full retail and then saw it for half price the next day. now I always check prices on my phone while I'm standing there. feels a little weird but way better than that gut punch later. sometimes I even walk out and order it right there on the spot. whatever saves me from that stupid feeling.

Yeah I did the EXACT same thing with faucets last year. Paid like $200 at a local place and then saw the identical model for $130 online the next week. What I started doing is taking a photo of the packaging barcode and running a quick search on my phone while I'm still standing in the aisle. It feels a little awkward at first but saves me from that sick feeling later. Now I treat every big store purchase like a mini investigation before I hand over my card.
