I always thought pocket hole joinery was just for quick fixes, not real cabinets.

For a long time, I saw it as a shortcut for shop furniture or face frames, not for building a full cabinet box. Then I built a set of garage cabinets for a client who wanted them done fast and cheap. I used a Kreg jig and glue on 3/4 inch plywood, following their specs. After a full year, those boxes are still solid with no racking or joint failure. The speed was a game changer for that kind of utility job. Has anyone else used pocket screws for a full case and had it hold up over time?

Honestly, calling it just for quick fixes isn't right. I've used pocket screws for casework that's held up for years.

Yeah I used to think they were just for quick jobs too. But I built some shop cabinets with them five years ago and they're still solid. Changed my mind on what they're good for.
