Had a cleanup disaster on a kitchen install Tuesday that cost me an extra day
I was fitting upper cabinets in a new build and bumped a fresh can of stain off my step ladder. It landed right on a brand new quartz countertop and splattered everywhere. Took me three hours and a special poultice to get the stain off without scratching the stone. The homeowner was watching the whole time and I could feel my face burning up. I ended up having to reschedule the rest of my week to get back on track. Has anyone else had a spill ruin a whole day like that?

...and that's why I always put a drop cloth down now even if it's just a little can of stain. But man, I had a similar thing happen with a latex paint can that got knocked over onto a slate floor. The weird part was I was so focused on cleaning up the spill that I didn't notice my phone had fallen out of my pocket and was sitting in the paint. Took me a solid hour to get it cleaned off and it was never the same after that. Your mileage may vary but I've found that keeping a wet rag and a plastic scraper nearby saves a lot of headaches in those moments.
