A painter told me my cabinet faces were over-sanded near the edges

He said my finish looked thin at the corners because I was sanding the profile too flat, so I switched to a foam block and stopped touching the edge banding. Now the maple fronts in my Raleigh jobs keep an even sheen, anyone else get that same note?
