That time a customer yelled at me about my lamb cuts
Used to do all my lamb legs French style because that's how I learned. Then this one guy at the farmers market in Portland went on a 10 minute rant about how I was wasting good meat and leaving no fat for flavor. I was pissed at first ngl but I went home and tried his way just leaving more of the fat cap and trimming less. After 3 weeks of doing it that way I actually sold more legs than I ever did before. Has anyone else had a customer change up their whole technique like that?

That customer basically did free marketing for you.

Yeah, the "free marketing" thing is interesting... I actually read somewhere that word of mouth is still the most trusted form of advertising for most people, way more than a billboard or a TV spot. So when a customer goes out of their way to post about a product or service, that's gold. It's like having your own unpaid sales team, but only if the experience was genuinely good. I saw a study that said something like 90% of people trust recommendations from friends or even random strangers online over any ad. So that one customer ranting or raving can reach a lot of people you'd never pay to target.
