That pricey meat grinder from 3 years ago still collects dust in my shop
I dropped $600 on a high-end grinder back in 2021 at a supply place outside Denver, thinking it would make my sausage prep way faster. After 3 uses, I realized my old manual crank does a better job without smearing the fat on warm days. Who else has a fancy tool they regret buying for their shop?

My buddy Dave dropped a pile on a hydraulic log splitter that's basically a very expensive lawn ornament now. He said it spits hydraulic fluid everywhere after ten minutes of use, so he just grabs his maul for splitting. The thing sits in his garage like some kind of rusting trophy of bad decisions.

Oh man, @craig.nathan, that story hits way too close to home. My neighbor bought one of those cheap splitters from a big box store and it was a total nightmare. After maybe the third use, the O-ring on the cylinder just gave out and it started spraying fluid like a sprinkler. He spent more time on YouTube watching fix-it videos than actually splitting wood. Now it's sitting in his shed next to an old lawnmower that doesn't start, both of them just collecting dust and shame. I totally get Dave grabbing the maul instead, sometimes old school is just more reliable than some overpriced gadget that breaks the second you look at it wrong.
