Serious question, is breaking down a whole hog yourself actually worth it?
I see guys online bragging about buying a whole hog and breaking it down at home. Looks cool on video. But I did it once at my shop in Omaha, a 180 pounder. Took me almost 4 hours and I still messed up the Boston butt cut. Ended up with weird steaks and a ton of scrap. Am I missing something or is it just for show?

Yeah exactly, did the same thing with a 200 pounder and ended up with a freezer full of ground pork.
