Band saw blade snapped mid-cut on a whole ribeye yesterday

I was breaking down a primal and the blade just went flying, almost got me in the arm. Anyone else have a band saw kick back like that and figure out what caused it?

Man, that's wild. Buddy of mine had one jump and it split his table in two.

Did that buddy of yours get his security deposit back after that? Sounds like the table was already on its last legs if a little jump took it out like that.
