Just realized I wasted $400 on a fancy invoicing tool before switching to a free one
For 8 months I paid $50/mo for an invoicing platform with 14 features I never touched, then last week I tried a $0 spreadsheet template from a forum and it does the exact same thing for my 6 clients, so does anyone actually need paid billing software or is it just me?

oh man I did the same thing. paid for some billing app at like 35 a month for almost a year because the trial made it look so clean, then one day I counted up what I actually used and it was basically just making a PDF with my name on it. my wife does her freelance stuff in a google sheet her friend made and it works fine for like 10 clients. I kept telling myself the paid one was more "professional" but honestly nobody ever cared. the invoice just needs to show the amount and how to pay, that's it.
