TIL the hard way why batch processing is better than single-item workflows

I used to process each client file one at a time from start to finish (my old boss taught me that way). Last month I had a stack of 30 property listing forms to verify and it took me like 6 hours of nonstop work. A coworker suggested I batch all the data entry first, then batch the photo checks, then batch the final reviews. I tried it with the next batch of 25 listings and finished in under 3 hours with fewer mistakes. Has anyone else found that switching to batching saved them way more time than they expected?

2025 cases of food poisoning last year alone in my county from people storing leftovers wrong. That's what the health department data shows. Google "leftover safety guidelines" and you'll see that most of those people would have been fine if they'd just treated their fridge like a normal storage unit instead of trying to "reheat" everything back to life. The CDC says 1 in 6 Americans gets sick from food each year, and a lot of that is from people who think their microwave can fix mistakes. I've had coworkers who left pizza out overnight then bragged about reheating it the next day, and guess what? They were the ones calling in sick all the time. So no, not every trick is actually a good one lol.
