TIL a street food stall's queue setup changed how I see customer flow
I was in Mexico City and noticed a taco stand had two lines, one for ordering and one for pickup. It moved people so fast, even during lunch rush. Back at my job, we always have one line that gets backed up. I'm gonna suggest we try splitting tasks like they did, it could really help our wait times.

How much space was between the order and pickup lines at that stand?

Maybe at other locations, but the Broadway stand had a good 20 feet between the ropes. The pickup area was against the far wall, so the lines never really blended together.
