I was at a depot in Phoenix last month waiting 4 hours for pads they swore were on the truck, and now I triple check every order before I let my crew touch a single box has anyone else had a vendor screw up that bad?

Four hours is brutal, but I gotta say something about that $800 number. Moving time doesn't cost $800 by itself unless you're running multiple trucks and a full crew full time. Lost productivity hurts, sure, but your actual out-of-pocket loss was probably wages for sitting around, not the full hourly rate you charge customers. Vendors messing up is a headache, no question, but padding the math makes the story sound bigger than it really was. Next time count the actual hours and wages lost, not the billable value, because those are two different things.

Exactly. Billable rate isn't the same as actual cost.
