That $400 CRM I bought nearly killed my business

I dropped $400 on a fancy CRM platform back in March because I thought it would solve all my scheduling and invoicing mess. Turns out it was way overbuilt for what I needed (I run a small pest control shop with just me and one other guy). I spent like 10 hours trying to set it up and still couldn't get the route mapping to work right for my weekly stops around town. The thing kept double-booking customers and sending wrong reminders. I ended up switching to a free Google Calendar setup with a shared spreadsheet and honestly it runs smoother. Has anyone else gotten burned by buying software that looked good but was just too complex for a small operation?

Nah I actually gotta push back on this one. Your problem wasn't the CRM being overbuilt, it was picking the wrong tool for your size business. A little research upfront would've shown you that $400 platform was meant for companies with 5+ routes and sales teams, not a two-man crew.

Oh man, SAME. I bought a $300 tool and couldn't even figure out how to add a customer.
