Spent $600 on a cheap CRM last month and it wrecked our pipeline tracking

Ngl, I thought I was saving money over Salesforce, but the data export bugged out during Q4 reviews. Has anyone else had a budget tool cost you more in lost leads than it saved upfront?

Wait, did you actually lose data or just hit a weird export bug on the first try... cheap CRMs usually have messy migrations, but straight up losing leads sounds more like a user error than the tool's fault.

Oh wow, I've been there with the exact same panic. When I moved my small database over to a new system last year, I thought I'd lost everything at first, too. Turned out the export file had some weird formatting issue that made the first import dump everything into one scrambled column. What finally worked for me was doing a test import with just 10 leads first before committing to the full migration. Then I noticed the system had a "merge duplicates" feature I hadn't tried, and that actually pulled back a bunch of contacts I thought were gone. So it's worth checking if your tool has a duplicate finder or an undo option before you blame yourself. Sometimes these cheap CRMs just hide the data in a different way than you expect.
