Our budget meeting took a wild turn when the projector died

We were halfway through the slides and everything went black, so I had to explain the numbers from memory. My boss was SO impressed with how I handled it that he approved the new software purchase on the spot. Ever had a tech fail lead to a quick win at work?

Oh wow, that sounds so stressful in the moment! I mean, having the projector die during a big meeting is like my nightmare, especially with the boss there. But it's awesome that you knew your stuff so well you could just talk through it. Turning a total tech panic into a win like that is seriously impressive. Sometimes things just work out way better than if the slides had been working, I guess.

Honestly the boss probably noticed how you handled the pressure more than the actual content. That's the real win, they saw you stay cool.
