I thought a daily 15 minute team check-in was a waste of time
My old boss in Chicago made us do a quick video call every morning to say what we were working on. I thought it was pointless for a year. Then we went remote and I realized it stopped so many small problems from getting big because we all knew what everyone else was doing. Now I run them for my own team. Has anyone else found a simple routine that fixed a bigger issue?

Totally, our five minute end of day email does the same thing.

Honestly I used to think those quick daily emails were just busywork. We started a three bullet point check-in at my old job and I rolled my eyes at first. But after a month I realized I actually knew what other teams were stuck on without having to ask. It stopped so many small problems from turning into big Monday morning fires.
