I finally figured out why our inventory counts were always off

For months, my team in Atlanta was doing manual counts at the end of the day, which was taking forever. The tip-off was a new hire who asked why we didn't just scan items as they were pulled from the shelf. Has anyone else switched to a real-time scanning system?

Our Chicago hub did what @mitchell.wren said. Errors vanished.

Our warehouse in Dallas switched to barcode scanners last year. The error rate dropped from 12% to almost nothing.
