Can we talk about paying for premium project management software?

I spent $300 on Asana last year because everyone in this group said it would fix my workflow. But honestly, it just made things more complicated for my small team of 4. We ended up going back to a shared Google Sheet and a whiteboard, and things run smoother now. Has anyone else found that simple tools work better than the expensive ones for smaller operations?

it just made things more complicated" - I actually disagree with this take. We're a team of 5 and Asana saved us. The free version works fine for small teams, you don't need the $300 plan. The issue might be trying to use all the features instead of just the basic task lists and due dates. We use it just for tracking who's doing what and when things are due, nothing fancy. Our whiteboard just turned into a mess of sticky notes nobody updated.

Totally depends on the team, but we tried Asana and it just added an extra step to everything.
