Unpopular opinion: minimal spreads are overrated

I was talking to this girl at a cafe last weekend who said her weekly layout takes 15 minutes with just a pen and ruler, and it made me realize maybe all those doodles and washi tape borders I do aren't helping me stay organized. She asked me if I actually use half the stuff I draw, and honestly I couldn't remember the last time I looked at a habit tracker I spent an hour on. Anyone else feel like pretty spreads just create more work?

lol "couldn't remember the last time I looked at a habit tracker" - that hit me hard. I spent like two hours on a mood tracker with little color coded stickers once, and I think I filled it in for maybe four days before I forgot about it completely. The girl you talked to sounds like she has the right idea honestly, 15 minutes with a pen is way more practical than what I do. Sometimes I feel like half the people in the bujo community are just making art projects instead of actually getting things done, myself included.

@nathanburns same here except mine was a water intake tracker. Drew all these little water bottle icons and filled in maybe three of them before I gave up. The art projects thing is real, I see spreads online that look like something from a museum and I'm just over here with a spiral notebook and a ballpoint pen.
