Tried a zigzag layout for my weekly spread and it totally flopped

I spent 45 minutes setting up this fancy zigzag system for tracking tasks last Sunday but by Tuesday I couldn't even tell which section was for what day. Anyone else find that simpler spreads just work better no matter how cool the design looks?

My zigzag phase ended when I realized my cat walking across the page counted as "Monday completed tasks.
