Tried a monthly log vs a weekly spread for May and the weekly won by a mile

I always used a monthly log for everything but kept running out of space for daily tasks. Switched to a weekly spread last month after seeing a setup on Pinterest from some girl in Portland. Now I have room for habit tracking and meal planning without it looking cluttered. Anyone else find the weekly format way easier to stick with?

That tip about leaving the bottom two inches blank is smart, I never thought of that. Do you find it actually works when a real surprise comes up, or do you end up squeezing things in sideways anyway? I tried a similar system but my unexpected tasks always seem to take up exactly the space I left, so I end up writing tiny and getting sloppy. Maybe I need a bigger notebook for that approach to really stick.

I switched to weekly spreads about 4 months ago and it changed everything. I used to cram 5 days of tasks into a single monthly box and end up with sticky notes all over my fridge. Now I have a left page for my weekly to-dos and a right page split into 3 sections: meals, habits, and a tiny notes column for random stuff. The trick is to leave the bottom 2 inches of each day blank for unexpected tasks, that way you don't run out of space when your boss drops a last minute project on you Thursday afternoon.
