Showerthought: my old journal was a mess until a rainy day at the library
I was trying to find a note from last month in my old notebook, and it took me 15 minutes. The pages were just a wall of black ink with no order. Right then, a lady at the next table saw me and slid over a little folded paper with a simple grid drawn on it. She said, 'Try giving each thought its own box.' I started using that basic grid for my daily log and suddenly I could find everything. Has anyone else had a stranger give them a tiny tip that fixed a big problem?

Wow, that grid idea is genius. I started putting little brackets around different topics on a page and it changed everything.

Funny how the smallest advice sticks. That grid thing reminds me of when I was trying to organize my receipts for taxes, a total nightmare. My friend, kind of like markc84 with his brackets, told me to just throw them all in a big envelope each month and sort it once. Changed my whole April. Sometimes you just need someone to point out the obvious fix.
