Rant: My whole collection method fell apart at a coffee shop in Portland
I was sitting at a cafe downtown Portland last Tuesday and realized I was flipping through four different notebooks just to find where I wrote down a book recommendation. It hit me that my usual system of jotting things on whatever page was open was making a mess of my bullet journal. Has anyone else found a clean way to keep random ideas and to-dos in one spot?

Ditch the extra notebooks and use one with an index page for random overflow ideas.

I actually heard someone talk about this on a productivity podcast recently, saying that a single notebook with an index gives you the flexibility to capture random thoughts without the guilt of "wasting" pages. They argued it cuts down on decision fatigue too, since you don't have to pick which notebook to grab when an idea hits. Your mileage may vary, but for me, tossing everything into one spot with an index has made those overflow ideas feel way more organized than they used to.
