Rant: I switched from a weekly to a rolling daily log and my productivity tanked

I was struggling to plan my week because my schedule changes every day, so I tried a rolling daily log where I just list the next day's tasks the night before. After three weeks, I feel totally lost on my bigger goals and my notebook is a mess. Has anyone made this switch work, or should I just go back to my old weekly setup?

Did you try a hybrid approach? I keep a weekly list of bigger goals but only plan the daily tasks one night ahead, so I don't lose the big picture. Maybe you just need a bit of both systems.

My buddy at the gym had the exact same problem last year. He got so caught up in the daily stuff that his whole project to redo his deck just stalled for months. He ended up using two notebooks, one for the week's big targets and a cheap one for the daily grind. It sounds like Tessa's idea, but seeing him actually do it made it click for me. Maybe that structure is what's missing, just having somewhere to keep the big goals in sight.
