Rant: I blew $47 on a stencil kit and a set of brush pens for my bujo, and my layouts still look like a toddler did them
Okay so this is a warning for the new folks. Six weeks ago I got it in my head that if I just had the right tools, my monthly spreads would look like the ones on Pinterest. So I dropped $47 at the craft store on a lettering stencil set, a pack of those dual brush pens, and a grid ruler. Your mileage may vary, but for me it was a total waste. The stencils slipped every time I traced them, the brush pens bled through my notebook pages (yes, even the thicker ones), and my hand lettering came out worse than my normal handwriting. I'm back to a $3 black pen and a cheap ruler from the kitchen drawer and honestly it looks fine. Take this with a grain of salt, but tools don't fix a shaky hand. Did anyone else get sucked into the supply rabbit hole and regret it, or am I just bad at this?
