Yeah that part about the calendar with smiley faces really got me thinking... I started doing something similar after a rough patch last year. Just a plain notebook where I draw a little sun or a cloud each morning depending on how I feel when I wake up. No colors or stickers or data points. It's been more honest than any app I ever used because there's no pressure to make it look good or track consistently. Plus looking back at a page of clouds makes me realize patterns without having to analyze anything. Really think the old school methods work because they don't try to fix you... they just let you see what's happening.

I gotta say, I read an article about how older folks have this way of simplifying things that we overthink. It was talking about how they use something as simple as a calendar with smiley or frowny faces instead of all these complicated apps. That stuck with me because we try to make everything so technical nowadays. I bet this lady had a similar down to earth method like a journal or a sticky note system. Sometimes the old ways are the best ways because they don't get in your head too much.
