Question about pen ink bleeding through pages

Three years ago, I started my first bullet journal with a cheap notebook from a store in Portland. Last month, I tried a new set of pens I got online, and the ink bled through almost every page. It ruined my weekly spread and the one behind it. I thought it was the paper, but then I tested the pens on a scrap and saw the same problem. Has anyone found a good pen that really doesn't bleed on thinner paper?

Honestly saw a video that said gel pens are usually the worst for bleeding. Tbh you might want to try a fine tip ballpoint instead. Ngl it made a huge difference in my old planner.

Depends on the gel pen and paper quality though.
