My pen exploded all over my monthly spread last night
It was a brand new fountain pen, and the ink ruined my whole March calendar page. I just sat for a minute, then grabbed some washi tape and turned the big blue splotch into a weird little pond drawing. Has anyone else salvaged a major journal mess?

Been there with a new pen, it's the worst. My go-to is to let the spill dry completely, then use a white gel pen to draw over the top. You can make some really cool layered patterns that way. The washi tape pond is a classic fix, honestly sometimes those forced changes make the page more interesting to look back on.

Oh man, the "big blue splotch" turning into a pond is such a good save. I mean, that's the real journaling spirit right there. I've definitely had a coffee cup leave a perfect ring on a weekly log before and just drew a target around it. It's kind of nice when you can force a mistake into something you like more.
