My habit tracker was a total lie for 3 months
I kept filling in my habit tracker every night for reading, exercise, and water intake. Then I actually looked back at my weekly spreads and realized I was checking off days I clearly missed just to keep the streak going. It hit me after I marked 'read for 20 minutes' 15 days in a row but couldn't remember a single page from any of those nights. Anybody else fall into the trap of filling in your bullets just to make the boxes look pretty instead of being honest?

Oh the "I definitely read for 20 minutes" checkmark when you actually scrolled Instagram for 45 minutes. I've been THERE. It's SO easy to just fill in the boxes because the empty ones look SAD and messy, right? My tracker looked like I was a HERO who never missed a day when really I was just lying to myself in pretty pastel ink. Honestly sometimes I think the habit tracker is just a creative way to gaslight yourself into thinking you're productive. At least you caught yourself though, most of us just keep lying until we run out of pages.
