My bullet journal recipe collection is turning into a disaster
I set up a nice space in my journal for recipes I like. It was organized at first, but now it's all jumbled up. I spent ten minutes looking for a soup recipe and still couldn't find it. This is not how bullet journaling was supposed to work. I feel like tossing the whole section out.

My recipe section looked great for about a week. I just started a new page for soups only, it helps a bit.

My mom used to keep her recipe cards in a shoebox, sorted by a color-coding system that only she understood (she had like 15 different colored highlighters for different meal types). One time I asked her for a cookie recipe and she pulled out a card that was half-covered in spaghetti sauce stains and had "OREO BALLS" written across the top in really shaky handwriting. The soups page idea is smart though, I tried that with a "quick meals" binder once and it lasted like three days before I just started shoving random printouts into it. These systems always seem to have a shelf life, you know? Maybe we just need to accept the chaos and lean into it with some weird method like yours.

Only a week? @bailey.evan, that's brutally short for something to look good. I guess the soups page is a band-aid fix. My own recipe system falls apart after a few days, so I feel your pain. Organizing this stuff feels like a full-time job that no one pays you for. Maybe we're all just doomed to have messy recipe collections.
