Heard a woman at the library say she only journals in pencil now, and it fixed my biggest problem

I was at the downtown library in Boise last Tuesday and overheard this woman tell her friend she switched to a plain old pencil about 6 months ago and never went back. At first I thought that was weird for a bullet journal since everyone posts these pretty ink spreads. But then I got what she meant. With pen I freeze up because a mistake feels permanent, so I skip pages and fall off for weeks. I tried it with a cheap mechanical pencil for the last 3 weeks and I've actually filled 11 pages, which is more than the 2 months prior combined. Any of you use pencil for your dailies, or do you hate how it smudges too much?
