That week the farmers market had a glut of peppers and I scored 12 pounds for eight bucks
I froze half of them diced and dehydrated the rest into powder, and now I'm set for chili seasoning till next summer, has anyone else found a weird seasonal windfall like that?

Tbh I think "set for chili seasoning till next summer" is kind of a stretch. Like yeah you dried some peppers but are you really gonna be sprinkling that on everything for a whole year or is it just gonna sit in your cabinet until you forget about it. I've done the big batch thing before and half the time I end up tossing it because I get bored of the same flavor after a month. Not trying to rain on your parade but 12 pounds of peppers is a lot of commitment for something you probably could have just bought fresh for a couple bucks later.

Respectfully @aaronrobinson, dried peppers last way longer than you think if stored right.
