Serious question, how do you handle a sibling who thinks budgeting is dumb?

My brother told me last weekend at my parents' house that I was 'wasting my time' trying to save $50 a month on groceries. He literally said 'just earn more money, it's easier.' I wanted to throw my spreadsheet at him. He makes twice what I do but also owes $8,000 on a credit card for restaurant meals. Has anyone else had a family member just not get the whole budgeting thing?

Did you ask him how he plans to pay off that $8,000 credit card bill?

lol honestly I used to be like your brother until I had a surprise car repair wipe out my whole savings in one day. @leo567's question is spot on though, that $8k isn't going away by itself.
