Our neighborhood's carpool story and what it did for our wallets
I was thinking back to when we all drove alone to work. Gas was costing us so much, so a few neighbors suggested carpooling. We started with a simple plan and now it's a habit. Looking back, I see how much we've saved on gas money. It's a real budgeting win for everyone on the street.

Have you guys factored in the extra maintenance from putting more miles on the carpool vehicle? In my experience, saving on gas is great, but those shared miles can mean more frequent oil changes and brake repairs. Your mileage may vary, of course, but it's worth noting for the full cost picture. It's still a smart move for the wallet, just a different part of the budget to watch.

Oh man, this hits home! My car's been through the wringer since we started carpooling, and I'm pretty sure the mechanic knows me by name now. Last month it was the brakes, this month it's a weird noise I'm ignoring. Still beats paying for gas alone, though!
