My neighbor in apartment 4B showed me his grocery receipt from Aldi and it blew my mind
We were chatting in the hall and he mentioned he only spent $65 for a full week of food for two people. I always thought Aldi was just for snacks or weird brands, but he walked me through his list of meat, veggies, and staples. It hit different because I'd just spent over $100 at my usual store for less stuff. Has anyone else made a full switch to a discount grocery chain and stuck with it?

My buddy was in the same boat, always complaining about his food bill. He finally tried shopping at a discount store out of pure frustration. The first trip was weird for him, the brands were different and the layout threw him off. But he stuck with it for a month and saved a ton of money. Now he says he can't imagine going back to the regular priced stores, it just feels like throwing cash away.

My cousin did that with Lidl last year and I laughed at her store brand ketchup. Joke's on me because she just bought a new TV with her grocery savings and I'm still paying name brand prices for basically the same stuff. It feels like we're all in some weird club that refuses to admit the cheap stuff is just fine. I mean, my brain still wants the fancy label but my wallet is starting to win the argument.
