Hit $5k in emergency savings and it felt like a trap at first

I was working toward a $5k emergency fund for about 14 months. Every time I got close something came up - car repair, vet bill, you name it. Last month I finally hit the number and instead of feeling relieved I got paranoid. I kept thinking 'what's going to break next?' because that's been my pattern. Has anyone else felt weird when they actually hit a savings goal after struggling for so long?

Treat it like a win and just let the money sit there for a bit.

Does that ever actually work for you, @anna_craig? I always tell myself I'm gonna let a win sit but then I end up blowing it on takeout the same day... guess old habits die hard.
