Had a cashier at Aldi help me save $8 on produce today
I was at Aldi in Green Bay this morning grabbing my usual stuff and I had this huge bag of avocados that were like $4.50. The cashier pointed out they had smaller bags right next to the register for $2.29 and said "you're paying for the big ones but half of them will go bad before you eat em." She was totally right. I swapped them out and also noticed the bell peppers she rang up had a weird spot so she took 50 cents off without me even asking. It's not a ton of money but it stuck with me because she wasn't pushy about it just gave me a tip that made sense. Has anyone else had a random grocery worker help them cut costs like that?

Oh wow, that's actually pretty common at Aldi honestly... the cashiers get trained to notice stuff like that. But you're right that most places don't bother. The bell pepper thing is real though - I've had them knock off a quarter for a bruised apple without asking. It's not a huge chain policy thing, it's just some employees who care enough to do it.

Wait a cashier actually told you to swap avocados and knocked money off a bell pepper without you asking? That's wild. Most grocery workers around here would just ring it up and move on.
