Found a $45 mistake in my grocery budget from last month

Last month I was wondering why my food spending kept blowing up. Turned out I was buying pre-cut fruit at the store near my office in Austin instead of whole ones. Three years ago I would have just shrugged it off, but last week I did the math and it was $45 extra in one month. Anyone else ever catch a silly habit like this that was quietly eating your budget?

My coworker spent an extra $30 a month on fancy ice cubes until her sister pointed it out.

@perez.mia I get where you're coming from but I see it a little different. Some people really notice the little things like ice cube shape or clarity and it makes them enjoy their drink more. Thirty bucks a month is like a coffee run or a streaming subscription, and if it brings her joy without hurting anyone, who cares? Maybe her sister helped her realize she didn't need it, but I bet she had fun with it while it lasted. To me, it's not about the ice, it's about treating yourself to something silly that makes your day a tiny bit better. We all waste money on stuff other people think is dumb.
