Spent $25 on blackout curtains for my basement theater and wow what a difference
I pieced together a projector setup for under $200 with a used Epson and a DIY screen. But the picture always looked washed out during the day. Finally grabbed some $25 blackout curtains from Walmart last weekend. Now I can watch movies at 2 PM with no glare at all. It honestly made my cheap setup look way more expensive. Has anyone else found a simple fix that improved their picture quality a ton?

It's crazy how often the cheapest tweaks end up making the biggest difference. I've noticed a pattern where people chase expensive gear upgrades when their room just has a basic problem like light or echo. You can have a top of the line TV but if the sun is hitting the screen it's gonna look terrible. A couple curtains or some cheap acoustic panels can totally transform the experience without spending big money. It's like how putting new tires on a old car can make it feel brand new again, simple stuff matters way more than flashy specs sometimes.
