Rant: spent $312 on my garage build and the sound still beats my buddy's $1,800 setup
So I finally added up every receipt from my garage theater build over the past 5 months and it came to $312. That's a used projector off Marketplace, a pull-down screen I got for $40, and a pair of old bookshelf speakers from a pawn shop on Route 9. I was sure my buddy's setup would blow mine away since he dropped around $1,800 on his. He came over last Saturday to watch a game and flat out said my sound felt fuller in the room. I'm not even sure why, maybe it's the small space or where I aimed the speakers. Has anyone else had a cheap build hold its own against way more money, and what did you figure was doing the heavy lifting?
