Picked a used projector over a new TV and I'm still second-guessing

I had $400 to spend on a home theater setup and went with a used BenQ 1070 off Craigslist instead of a new 55-inch TCL Roku TV. The picture is massive at 120 inches but the blacks are kinda washed out in daytime. Anyone else make this trade and regret it or am I just being picky?

Daytime viewing is rough on projectors honestly.

Feeling your pain on that one. I tried watching a movie in my living room last Saturday around noon and it was like looking at a foggy mirror. Even with the curtains closed, the sun just finds its way through every crack. You end up squinting at the screen and missing half the dialogue. It's a whole different beast than watching at night, that's for sure.
