Wasted $180 on a 'self-leveling' laser level that was anything but
Bought a cheap laser level from an online deal site thinking I saved big, but it was off by a quarter inch over 20 feet and I had to redo a whole garden wall last weekend. Anyone else get burned by a budget tool that just wasn't worth the headache?

Man, that sucks. I've been there with a cheap laser level that had me redoing trim in my living room. For a garden wall you really need something reliable, even an older name brand like a Bosch or a used Hilti from a pawn shop can save you a ton of headache. Pro tip: check the calibration on any level by setting it up, spinning it 180 degrees, and seeing if the line stays put. If it doesn't, return it quick before you waste time and materials.
