Hot take: motor mixing is not the same as mashing
I've been noticing a lot of guys on jobsites using their motor mixer like a giant mortar hoe. They dump in the sand and cement, then let it spin for 20 minutes thinking that gets the job done. But here in Phoenix, I had a crew last spring that kept getting fat lumps in their joints because the materials weren't breaking down right. A proper mix needs about 3 minutes dry, then add water in stages. Has anyone else run into this lazy mixing habit?

Oh wow, I totally used to be that guy who just let it spin forever and thought it was fine. But you're right, that dry mix time makes a huge difference. Never going back to the lazy way now.
