Had a foreman in Denver tell me my trowel grip was killing my speed

He showed me how I was holding it like a baseball bat instead of pinching it near the bottom. Switched to that lighter grip last Tuesday and laid about 200 more bricks in a day. Anyone else get little tips like that from the older guys that completely change your method?

My buddy Dave picked up a trick from a 30 year mortar vet in Phoenix about keeping his bucket close to his off hand. He said most guys waste steps reaching back and forth instead of sliding the board with their foot as they move. Little stuff like that adds up to way less back pain by lunchtime, lol.
