Guy at the supply yard told me to stop wetting my bricks and I thought he was nuts
Old timer named Rick at Builders Depot in Phoenix watched me soaking a pallet and said 'you're just making mud, kid.' Told me to keep them dry and use a plasticizer instead for Arizona heat. Does anyone else adjust their method based on local climate or do you stick with what you learned?

Funny enough, I used to be one of those guys who swore by wetting bricks no matter what. Did it for years on jobs up in Washington where it's always damp anyway. Then I moved down to New Mexico for a summer job and a old mason there laughed at me. Showed me how the bricks would just slump and smear if they were too wet in the heat. Now I keep them dry and use a plasticizer like Rick said. Changed my whole approach for desert climates.
