Can we talk about how many bricks a good crew can lay in a day?
I was looking up some old project specs from a job I did back in 2018 outside Austin, and I saw the estimate said 400 bricks per man per day. I always figured it was more like 250 or 300, so that number surprised me. Then I asked my foreman about it, and he said with a solid mix and a clean layout, he's seen guys hit 500 on a good day. That seems like a lot for real world work where you deal with cuts and openings. Has anyone else here actually tracked that number on a commercial site and seen it hit that high?

I mean, 500 sounds like one of those numbers that looks good on paper but doesn't hold up when you're actually doing it. Maybe it's just me, but I've never seen a crew hit that clean with real cuts and openings slowing everything down.

Honestly, have you ever factored in how much time teams lose just arguing over who gets which cut?
