My starter exploded through the jar lid yesterday morning

I came down to feed it and there was sticky goo all over my counter and ceiling from the pressure building up overnight. Has anyone else had a starter get THAT active or am I just feeding mine too much sugar?

It's like that thing where you leave something alone for a SECOND and it goes totally CRAZY.

Depends on the thing... sometimes it needs space to figure itself out.
