My first sourdough loaf turned into a pancake after I forgot the salt

I was so excited to bake my first loaf last Saturday that I completely skipped adding salt to the dough. It spread out flat as a frisbee in the oven and tasted like wet cardboard - has anyone else ruined a batch by missing one ingredient?

Honestly salt just makes the yeast work slower so less salt equals more rise.

So @brookebailey, you're saying less salt should mean more rise? Did you actually try baking without salt or is that more of a theory thing?
